From the Principal
Harmony Day Thursday
Last Thursday, our school community came together to celebrate Harmony Day. Harmony Day is a wonderful occasion to promote the inclusivity, respect, and diversity that enriches our lives as members of a school Catholic school community. This year’s theme, "Everyone Belongs", aligns perfectly with our mission to foster an environment where all students, regardless of their background, feel valued, supported, and loved.
At Trinity, we understand that it is through embracing our differences that we truly live out the spirit of faith, hope and love. Harmony Day serves as a reminder to celebrate the beautiful diversity within our school—whether it’s through culture, language, faith, or experiences. We recognise that God’s creation is vast and varied, and it is through this diversity that we are called to grow in understanding and compassion for one another.
Thank you to all our students, teachers, staff, and parents for making this year’s Harmony Day a memorable and meaningful celebration. Together, we are building a more harmonious world, starting right here in our school.
Athletics Carnival
On Friday we held our annual Athletics Carnival at Casey Fields. Although the day started with a sprinkle of rain, we were able to continue through the program without pausing. It was a wonderful atmosphere with students dressed in their house colours and competing with enthusiasm and encouraging each other. A huge thank you must go to all our volunteers who helped throughout the day. Without this support, days such as these cannot go ahead. Thank you also to all of the staff who set up the venue and those who guided and supported the students throughout the day. A special thank you to Mrs Woolf or Mrs Cahill for all of the hours of organisation and preparation that they invested into making the day run smoothly.
The results will be on announced on Monday before the Colour Run commences.
Grade 4 Camp
This Thursday and Friday, our Grade 4 students will be going to Oasis Camp in Mount Evelyn. At the camp the students will be participating in a variety of activities from candle making to archery. We are look forward to accompanying these students on camp and hearing about all of their experiences. Thank you to all of the staff who are attending. We know that this is time you are spending away from your families.
School Colour Run- Next Monday 31st March
Next Monday is Colour Run Day!
All students should have received the permission slip which needs to be returned to classroom teachers before the end of the week.
We still have 5 days to go, so let’s try and beat last year’s total!
Families are encouraged to sponsor their child to do the event (any monetary amount) and invite extended family members and friends to do the same should they wish. The company supplies all the colour powder, glasses and head bands for the students.
We have asked the Fire brigade to join us on the day. Fortunately, they have agreed to be present- as long as they are not called out.
Please remember that students are to wear casual clothes, and it is best if they wear a white or light-coloured shirt. They must have enclosed shoes for the event as they may be covered from head to toe in coloured powder!
The Colour Fun Run will start at 1.45pm this Monday, the 31st of March. Gates will open for parents from 1.30pm.
Please enter and sign in through the gate near the Chapel. All are welcome to come and watch!!
Security Update
This week we have had security cameras installed around the outside of the school buildings. This is to increase the security of the school. This is an overall DOSCEL security update that has happened across all DOSCEL schools.
Playgrounds After School
After school we have noticed an increase in the number of children playing on the playgrounds. It is lovely to see families getting to know each other, however all children MUST be supervised by their own parent (not a friend) during this time.
This is for the safety of all concerned. We are seeking your support with this, otherwise we will sadly need to close the playgrounds after school to ensure everyone’s safety. Thank you for your support.
Staffing Updates for Term 2
Next Term Mrs Nicola Schultze will be increasing to 5 days a week in Grade 4C. Mrs Renee Albert, who was working in 4C on a Friday will be going across to Grade 1A to work with Mrs Mary Temby.
Mrs Danielle Davis will also be increasing to 5 days a week in Grade 6B. Mrs Casey-Leigh Watson who was in Grade 6B on Fridays, will be commencing Maternity Leave. We wish Mrs Watson every blessing and joy as she welcomes her second child.
School Uniform- Term 2
Term 2 and 3 requires the students to wear their winter uniform. Boys may wear either blue pants or shorts and the yellow long/short sleeve school t-shirt with navy socks and black shoes. Girls may wear the same as the boys or the yellow t-shirt and school winter dress with navy stocking or socks. There will be a 2 week change over period at the start of Term 2.
Sports socks and coloured runners/sport shoes are only to be worn on your child’s sports days. Earrings must also be a stud or sleeper. We have noticed some fashion earrings being worn to school. This is not part of the uniform code and is not safe either.
Thank you for your support in ensuring that the correct uniform is worn.
Parent Helper Online Workshop
At Trinity we value parent participation and support at special events and on excursions. For parents to volunteer it is a requirement that a Working with Children’s Check is valid and that the Trinity Parent Volunteer Induction is completed. This involves watching an online video that can be located on PAM under Parent Links. Once completed, please bring in your WWCC to the office and sign our Code of Conduct (if not already done). This is part of our commitment to Child Safety. Thank you.
Seasons for Growth
We will be running our Seasons For Growth Programs for students aged between 6-12 years towards the start of next term. Seasons for Growth supports children and young people who have experienced change and loss, including, although not limited to friendship changes; family separation; loss or death of someone they care about; loss of a pet; relocation and forced migration; living away in out of home care; physical or mental illness; or impacts of war, terrorism or pandemics. We suggest that children and young people impacted by bereavement wait 6-12 months before participating in a Seasons for Growth program.
If you believe that your child will benefit from this program, please contact your child’s teacher detailing why you believe your child will benefit from the program.
More information regarding this program can be found on the MacKillop Institute Website.

INTRODUCING OUR LEARNING ADJUSTMENT LEADER- Mrs Rosetta Osthmuller
My name is Rosie Osthmuller, the new Learning Adjustment Leader. It has been a great start to the school year this term getting to know the students and families at Trinity. My greatest passion is seeing the students come to school eager to learn and interact with their peers. I am excited about being part of such a beautiful school community at Trinity. I look forward to getting to know more families this year.

Religious Education - Term 1, Week 9
Dear Families,
Parish-School Connections - Shepherd's Table Thank-you
In 2024 students from Trinity have provided a delicious sweet to be given to guests attending a meal with Shepherd’s Table in the Parish Centre. This is a wonderful gesture on behalf of the students and teachers involved. The guests have genuinely appreciated what has been given to them. They are full of praise for the spirit and generosity of the children. The Committee of Shepherd’s Table is also very appreciative of the children’s efforts and the spirit in which the gesture is made.
At its heart, an outreach program, such as Shepherd’s Table, promotes community service and engagement. The program is aimed at making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and groups outside the church's immediate circle. It's about extending a hand of fellowship, support, and love. Surely this is what Jesus and the Gospel is about.
We would like to thank and congratulate the staff and children involved for their generosity of thought, time and effort in the making of these sweets for the people attending our meals. It is a practical example of outreach involving community service and engagement.

Level 6 Jubilee Logo Designs
In Level 6, students have been learning about the Year of Jubilee: Pilgrims of Hope. Students have been unpacking the meaning within the Jubilee Logo desgin for 2025. To demonstrate their understanding of its significance, they were asked to design their own Jubilee logos t. Some of their amazing logos are pictured below.

SAFE AROUND Trinity Catholic Primary

Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- Please abide by the 5km/h limit the WHOLE TIME you are in the park area.
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays in our school car park.
- Thank you to all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOTa meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the only PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDINGzones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and either park or rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- THE GATES CLOSEAT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is forSTAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
We really need commitment from families to NOT TURN RIGHT when exiting the car park. All vehicles must TURN LEFT for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
We also have families double parking along Oakgrove Drive and letting their children out. This is unsafe, prevents traffic flow and against road rules.
We have also been contacted by Casey Council, which patrols the area, about families performing U-turns on Oakgrove Drive. Their advice is as follows:
Ø U-turns are dangerous during the peak school times for pedestrians but also other drivers.
Ø They recommend NOT performing U-turns in this area. This is dangerous for children and pedestrians around a school precinct.
Ø They recommend driving further up to the roundabout on Oakgrove Drive, where you can turn around safely or exit away from the school.
If you have others picking up your children, such as Grandparents, can you please inform them of Trinity’s protocols or etiquette.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email and I look forward to your continued commitment to keep our students and families safe.
CHILD SAFE STANDARDS WORKING WITH CHILDREN
Trinity has zero tolerance towards child abuse and is therefore committed to complying with the Ministerial Order No. 1359 – Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises. All parents/guardians wishing to help in the classroom, canteen or attend excursions MUST have completed the PARENT HELPER WORKSHOP and hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD.
Further details are available from the school office or the Justice Department website. All parent/guardian helpers must sign in at the office before proceeding to the classrooms. Your current Working with Children card must be displayed at all times when working in the classrooms and attending excursions.
A reminder to all Parents/Carers, supervision by School Staff begins at 8.30am before school and after school only at the drop off area until 3.30pm.
