2025 Term 2 Week 3
From the Principal
As we approach Mother’s Day, we take a moment to honour and celebrate the incredible love, care, and strength of all mothers and mother figures in our school community. Mother’s Day has its roots in early Christian traditions and has grown into a special time of thanksgiving and appreciation. At Trinity we are also reminded of the nurturing spirit of Mary, the mother of Jesus, whose example inspires us to live with compassion, kindness, and faith. We give thanks for the selfless devotion of our mothers, grandmothers, and carers, and we pray that God continues to bless them with love and grace.
As usual, we are holding two Mother’s Day Breakfasts this week. This morning, we were delighted to welcome many of our families to the first event, which was a wonderful morning of connection, gratitude, and celebration. We now look forward to our second breakfast and another happy opportunity to honour the special women in our lives.
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of mothers and all who show a mother’s love.
Bless them with strength, patience, and joy.
May they always feel the love and gratitude of those around them.
Guide them with the wisdom of Mary, mother of Jesus,
And keep them in Your tender care, today and always.
Amen.
Catholic Education Week- 16th to the 23rd May
From Friday May the 16th until Friday 23rd of May, Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sale are celebrating Catholic Education Week. This years’ theme is the same as the Jubilee Year, Pilgrims of Hope.
Catholic Education Week is a special week of celebration for all who work in Catholic education across our Diocese of Sale. There are 39 primary schools and seven secondary schools in the Diocese with the newest primary school, St Josephine Bakhita, opening this year at Clyde North. Collectively schools in the Diocese of Sale support 20,588 students and 3,289 school staff.
During Catholic Education Week, we join with Catholic schools across the Diocese giving thanks for the gift of our education, for our students, teachers, parents, priests and religious and all who support us in our faith and learning.
During Catholic Education Week, Trinity’s students will be involved in activities that allow time for reflection on what being part of a Catholic school means to them and how they can serve those within our community. The staff at Trinity will gather with the Our Lady Help of Christians Parish Team and staff from Don Bosco and Mary MacKillop Primary Schools at OLHC Church on Tuesday 20th May as a way of celebrating and learning together.

- Boys may wear either blue pants or shorts and the yellow long/short sleeve school t-shirt with navy socks and black shoes.
- Girls may wear the same as the boys or the yellow t-shirt and school winter dress with navy stocking or socks.
Thank you for your support in ensuring that the correct uniform is worn.
Child Safety
Keeping our children safe is an important responsibility we all share. It is our highest priority, as we know that children learn best when they feel they are a part of a safe and supportive environment. It permeates all decision making and puts the interests of our students first. The staff at Trinity are committed to providing environments where their students feel safe, valued and respected, and their voices are heard. It is critical we adopt a no tolerance response to child abuse and take proactive measures to identify and manage any potential risk of harm to its students.
At Trinity we have several policies and procedures in place that ensure the Child Safe Standards are adhered to. These polices can be found on our school website. We also Child Safety Champions identified via posters around the school, who ensure that Trinity is a place safe to learn and grow. Please continue to talk to your children at home about what to do if they feel unsafe or are worried about something.
Medical Information- Please Update.
An important part of Child Safety is making sure that all medical plans and information is correct and up to date. Please ensure that you check your child’s medical details via PAM and update the information when it becomes irrelevant, revised or changes.
Winter Coughs and Colds
As winter approaches we will see an increase of cold and flu symptoms across all areas. If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home to rest and recover. This helps prevent the spread of illness and keeps everyone in our community healthy. Thank you for your cooperation and care!
Parent Helper Online Workshop
At Trinity we value parent participation and support at special events and on excursions. For parents to volunteer it is a requirement that a Working with Children’s Check is valid and that the Trinity Parent Volunteer Induction is completed. This involves watching an online video that can be located on PAM under Parent Links. Once completed, please bring in your WWCC to the office and sign our Code of Conduct (if not already done). This is part of our commitment to Child Safety. Thank you.

Religious Education - Term 2, Week 3
Dear Families,
Week of Mercy - Thank you
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families in our Trinity community who generously donated food during our Week of Mercy, held in memory of Pope Francis and his call to care for those most in need. The overflowing baskets of canned goods, pantry staples, and special treats were a clear reflection of our school’s mission to live out the Gospel values of Faith, Hope, and Love. Every donation—big or small—helped bring comfort and dignity to individuals and families doing it tough.
This special week reminded us of Pope Francis' words: “A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.” Thank you for helping us bring warmth, care, and hope to others.
First Eucharist Sacrament
We would like to remind all families participating in the Sacrament of First Eucharist that our Parent-Child Workshops are scheduled to begin next week. These workshops are a vital part of your child’s preparation and provide a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to journey together in faith.
Please attend one of the following sessions:
Wednesday 14th May at 5:00pm or 7:00pm
Thursday 15th May at 5:00pm or 7:00pm
Each session will be held in the Parish Centre at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish. If you have any questions please contact the school or parish office.
Kind regards,
Emily Rogers
Religious Education Leader
MHiPS: School Sucess, Term 2 Week 3

Last term, Dr. Billy Garvey, a developmental paedatrician, shared insights with our parents on how they can foster resilience with their children. While here, he shared with parents a wonderful resource called the School Success Cheat Sheet. In this resource he says,
"A lot of parents think school readiness is about reading and counting. But actually, social and emotional development is far more important. School isn’t where kids learn these skills, it’s where they use them. School is game day. You don’t send a player onto the field without training first, and you don’t send a child to school expecting them to suddenly learn how to handle friendships, emotions, and independence. These skills need to be practiced and scaffolded before they start school."
The cheat sheet covers topics like emotional maturity, social competence, confidence and self esttem, and communication skills. It takes a few minutes to read and can really help all of us to better support our children as they grow into yound adults.

AWARDS & BIRTHDAYS

Trinity Car Park Etiquette
- Please abide by the 5km/h limit the WHOLE TIME you are in the park area.
- For greater safety and visibility, we are requesting that all drivers reverse park into the marked bays in our school car park.
- Thank you to all who use the pedestrian crossing area. You are demonstrating to your children correct road safety practices. Once children cross the pedestrian crossing into the parking area, they, for their safety, need to be placed into vehicles promptly. The car park is NOTa meeting area.
- The lane around the edge of the car park (closest to the oval) are for vehicles waiting to pick children up from the Pick-up Zone ONLY.
- The two parking bays closest to the office path are the only PICK-UP ZONES. These are NO STANDINGzones. If your children are not ready to get into your car as you pull up to the pick-up zone, you must continue on and either park or rejoin the end of the pick-up queue.
- THE GATES CLOSEAT 8.50am. They will RE-OPEN AT 3.00pm. The gates close for the day at 3:30pm. Occasionally they might reopen slightly later due to school activities.
- The Staff Car Park is forSTAFF PARKING ONLY. Please do not use it as a drop off/pick up for students.
We really need commitment from families to NOT TURN RIGHT when exiting the car park. All vehicles must TURN LEFT for the safety of others and to maintain traffic flow.
We also have families double parking along Oakgrove Drive and letting their children out. This is unsafe, prevents traffic flow and against road rules.
We have also been contacted by Casey Council, which patrols the area, about families performing U-turns on Oakgrove Drive. Their advice is as follows:
Ø U-turns are dangerous during the peak school times for pedestrians but also other drivers.
Ø They recommend NOT performing U-turns in this area. This is dangerous for children and pedestrians around a school precinct.
Ø They recommend driving further up to the roundabout on Oakgrove Drive, where you can turn around safely or exit away from the school.
If you have others picking up your children, such as Grandparents, can you please inform them of Trinity’s protocols or etiquette.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email and I look forward to your continued commitment to keep our students and families safe.
